Since the appointment, Marysville voters have reelected him twice, once in 2023 and again in 2025.

For Condyles, the 2025 victory was significant, as two weeks after his dad’s death, Condyles had to kick off his reelection campaign.

“That was a tough, tough experience to go through,” he said. “Winning that campaign was a huge accomplishment for me.”

During his time on the council, Condyles has focused on Marysville’s financial health, such as keeping water rates at a responsible level, land use policy and community beautification, including creating uniform city signage, he said.

“The last few years have been really good years for Marysville,” he said. “I’ve been really proud about some of the things that we’ve been able to do around business creation, affordable housing and that kind of thing.”

Growing up, Condyles’ dad had a love for history, which he passed on to his son.

“I like to think I took some of what my dad instilled in me and then ran with it,” he said.

In 2014, he was elected to the board of the Marysville Historical Society. After graduating from Western Washington University with a degree in history in 2020, he was elected as vice president of the historical society. Two years later, he was elected president.

Since then, the organization has become debt-free and inspires historical participation across multiple ages. Board members encompass various life stages from their 20s to their 80s, Condyles said.

Another way Condyles works to preserve history is through his blog, which covers Marysville and Northwest political history.

“We just opened a new park in Marysville, so I did a history of that park,” he said. “It’s stuff that’s really relevant to the community.”

In 2024, Condyles received a Certificate of Municipal Leadership from the Association of Washington Cities.

“Peter has worked hard everywhere he shows up to use his skills for the greater good,” a nominator wrote.

Outside of work, you can find Condyles researching for his blog, gardening, and spending time with friends and family.

Jenna Millikan: 425-339-3035; jenna.millikan@heraldnet.com.
